Willingboro Lakes Park, located in Willingboro Township, New Jersey, is a 105-acre natural retreat that offers a peaceful escape into nature right in the heart of the community. Formerly known as Olympia Lakes, the park was revitalized and officially reopened in October 2020. What was once a sand excavation site has been transformed into a vibrant recreational space, thoughtfully designed to serve residents and visitors of all ages and abilities.
At the center of the park is a serene freshwater lake surrounded by about 1.7 miles of easy-to-navigate trails, which weave through wooded areas, open fields, and along the shoreline. As a haven for wildlife, more than 100 bird species and over 40 varieties of butterflies, dragonflies, and damselflies have been documented in the area making it a popular spot for nature enthusiasts. The park also features a nature-inspired playground with log-themed structures that encourage imaginative play, as well as picnic areas with grills, a covered pavilion, and clean restroom facilities.
